This presentation details the recent development of allocation wells and examines the status of allocation wells in the industry, the courts, at the Railroad Commission, and how academic commentators are approaching the issue.

Emily Fitzgerald focuses her practice on litigation and dispute resolution. Prior to joining Thompson & Knight, she served as a Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Lavenski Smith, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and the Honorable Jeffrey S. Boyd of the Supreme Court of Texas; additionally, she served as a Summer Law Clerk for Commissioner Ajit Pai of the Federal Communications Commission. Emily is a member of the State Bar of Texas; she received her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law and her B.A. in Anthropology (with a secondary major in Journalism), magna cum laude, from the University of Arkansas.

Conrad Hester focuses his practice on oil and gas litigation. His expertise includes contract disputes, royalty litigation, lease termination and title suits, surface access, and surface damages disputes. Additionally, he has experience drafting and negotiating leases and exploration, production, and operational agreements. Conrad also represents clients in a variety of complex commercial litigation matters. He has been named to Texas Rising Stars by Thomson Reuters (2017) and is a member of the Tarrant County Bar Association, Young Professionals in Energy and the Fort Worth Wildcatters, among other organizations. He received his J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law and his B.S. in Psychology from Abilene Christian University.
