Speaker: Laura Klein
Topic: "How a drilling engineer and land person can work together to optimize a drilling site selection."
Laura Klein graduated with a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
She will tell us how a drilling engineer and land person can work together to optimize a drilling site selection.
She has 30 years of drilling experience including everything from roughneck to Drilling Manager.
When she worked at Gulf Oil, she was the first
woman through the rig training program.... no small feat. At Mobil she was an on-site engineer and rig supervisor in the Gulf of Mexico, as well as in the Norwegian North Sea. She was the Global
Recruiting and Training Coordinator for Mobil
Drilling Services. At Reef Exploration she was responsible for everything from building locations
and hiring rigs to well planning and execution.
She basically was the Drilling Dept. there. She is currently working at Encana on Engineering
Special Projects. She lives in Allen with her
husband, Mark, and three sons.
